Fall Events in Winston Salem

Looking for something fun to do this Fall in Winston-Salem? Well, while the weather might be cooling down, the calendar is heating up with lots of fun fall events to keep you busy. Here are a few of my favorites.

Winston-Salem Air Show

Fun for the entire family, with events in the sky and on the ground. From police K-9 demonstrations to stage shows and amazing flying stunts, there is something for everyone at this annual event.

  • September 13-14, 2014
  • Smith Reynolds Airport, 3801 North Liberty Street
  • www.wsairshow.com

Oktoberfest

Sponsored by the Triad German Club, this evening of entertainment includes music by The Little German Band and Dancers, traditional German food such as bratwurst and sauerkraut, and a selection of German beers to whet your whistle.

Dixie Classic Fair

Blending a carnival, entertainment, food, and games for 10 days of non-stop thrills. Watch the pig races, check out the harvest of local farmers, sample a bit of deep-fried specialties, or try your hand at games of skill. The Dixie Classic Fair is the 2nd largest agricultural fair in NC.

First Friday Gallery Hop

Enjoy the festival-like nature of closed streets where performers entertain, folks bring lawn chairs to relax, and artists display their skills and galleries.  A laid-back and unique way to get to know the city and the wonderful people who inspire so much that makes Winston-Salem a city steeped in the arts.

  • 1st Friday of every month (rain or shine)
  • 6th Street/Trade Street/Liberty Street, Downtown Winston-Salem
